An event aboard a running bus, activism to the sound of music with Sara Segantin and Eugenio Cesaro (Eugenio In Via Di Gioia) and performances from around the world: what’s new 2024

THE 2024 EDITION. The most beautiful places in the city of Mantua become theatrical spaces thanks to the Festival, hosting many international shows, from Australia – a story about friendship with The Boy and the Ball – from The Netherland – such as About a Mole taken from the book ‘Who put it in my head? ‘ which tackles the theme of injustice and BB & Baby is My Teacher, by Japanese artist Makiko Ito – France – Mobil’Âme and its mixture of colours, emotions, joy and poetry and the dance performance La Fin Du Monde N’Aura Pas Lieu, which aims to highlight the necessity of human relationships – Switzerland – Kill Your Darlings, a kaleidoscopic journey into the world of body percussion.

Not to be missed are the two events staged at the Ariston Theatre, including the Principio Attivo Teatro and La Luna nel Letto co-production with La Fabbrica del Tempo, a journey that guides the spectator with the mastery of the mime-actors on stage on the big questions that arise for adults and children alike on the theme of free time, work, and passions; together with a brand new version of Little Red Riding Hood, staged on 31 October afternoon, which aims to tackle fear by living the story of the classic fairy tale from the wolf’s point of view.

Not only spectators, if you are between 15 and 25 years of age Segni provides training experiences, carrying out PCTO, internship or volunteering at SEGNI Festival. One of the projects sees the collaboration of APAM and Padiglione MZ (off programme of the festival curated by Monica Colella) in the creation of an organisational group aimed at the construction of an event realised on a running APAM bus. For more information write to segnidinfanzia@gmail.com. But SEGNI Festival also includes shows and events to be enjoyed as an audience, including the musical event ‘Abbiamo solo terra, musica e parole’ (‘We only have earth, music and words’) in which Sara Segantin – science populariser and storyteller – and Eugenio Cesaro (Eugenio in Via Di Gioia) discuss the theme of environmental sustainability in music and words in the wonderful setting of Sala dei Cavalli in Palazzo Te.
